General Structure of Course 

The school is CME accredited and a Certificate of completion will be given to the participants who are also required to take a final test on the last day.  The course is divided in 3 parts, each of them with formal lectures, time for independent review of cases, discussion of cases with instructors in small groups, and laboratory practice for EM, LM, IF, -omics.

 BASIC COURSE:                                                            

Day 1

Technical aspects:

  • Histology, IF, IHC, EM (path oriented)
  • US guided Renal Biopsy (clinical oriented)
  •  Digital nephropathology

Day 2-8

  • Lectures: Native Kidney diseases
  • Practice: independent review of cases*
  • Laboratories:
    • ο Review of cases with instructor*
    • ο Electron microscopy practice with instructor

Day 9-10

  • Lectures: Transplant kidney diseases
  • Practice: independent review of cases*
  • Laboratories:
    • ο Review of cases with instructor*
    • ο Electron microscopy practice with instructor 

 ADVANCED COURSE:                                        

Day 11-12

 Lectures and practice

  • EM - Advanced course
  •  IF & IHC
  • Confocal microscopy
  • Omics
  • Laser Capture Microscopy

Day 13

Final Exam
